some things to take note of…
lot’s to address today, so pardon me but i’m just going to get to it…
first off, many many thanks to all of you that stayed up and tuned into the BBC 1 rock show last night/early this morning to hear the global premiere of weighted. you all must be exhausted. i would also like to thank Daniel P. Carter for playing my song and for being an all around super rad guy all these years. (if you didn’t already know this, he’s also a fantastic musician. check out Krokodil. shit’s brutal.) if you liked what you heard and were thinking ‘radio is just not enough damnit! i need to own a copy of that song right now!!’ well then you are in luck and can head on over to iTunes and when you preorder the record you will instantly receive your digital copy of weighted. but maybe some of you are thinking ‘radio is just not enough damnit! and the single and the preorder of the digital version of stomachaches are just not enough either!! i need a t-shirt as well as some vinyl, and/or a cd, and a giclée fine art print of an original painting signed and numbered by frank that’s limited to 250 copies in addition to the instant download of weighted!!!’ well then you too are in luck!! head over to the new store and you can pick up all of that exactly in whichever bundle you can think of!! hmm, but possibly you might be thinking ‘Hey but i live in the UK, don’t you have an exclusive UK shirt design or album bundle pack for me?!?’ well guess what? yes! you too are in luck. head on over to our UK store and you will find exactly what you are looking for!
ah, but then there still might be some of you that say ‘ok, very nice, but i in fact missed the BBC 1 global premiere, and i am completely devastated. isn’t there somewhere i could listen to the song while i order all these fine products?’ oh yes, you my friend are also in luck. the fine folks at B.CALM press and Staple Records have thought of just that. just head on over to our official youtube page and you can listen to weighted til your heart’s content.
but but wait there’s more! wanna come cellabrate the release of stomachaches with us? (you: yes!) ok good, because we are pleased to announce that the fine folks at Vintage Vinyl in Fords New Jersey were nice enough to invite us to their store to play you a few songs and sign some records on our release day, August 25th, 2014. (this is one of my favorite record stores in the world by the way.) more details to follow!
oh what’s that you muttered under your breath? you don’t live in NJ…you live in Baltimore, MD? well, guess what friend?! we will be playing our very own show at the Metro Gallery in Baltimore Maryland on Thursday October 9th, 2014.
see something for everyone! ok, but that will have to be all for right now because it’s my beautiful wife’s birfday today and i’m going to take her to breakfast. stay tuned for more news and shows soon. have a good tuesday. xofrnk
p.s. if you haven’t listened to the new music my friend geoff rickly has been working on you really must do yourself a favor and check it out. wow! No Devotion and the new United Nations. too darn good.

a fire in the sky
it’s the fourth of july, and i can hear explosions in the distance. being in the u.s. tonight that’s the tell tale sound of a good time…however i suppose if i were located anywhere else in the world there would be some cause for alarm.
if you haven’t noticed there’s been a bit of an overhaul to this here site. i’d like to thank my new friends taylor and vic over at vagrant for helping me out with my many internet deficiencies and making this all possible. in my opinion it definitely seems to be working better and i think it’s way easier on the eyes as well. so i hope you all enjoi it as much as america enjoys exploding color in the july night sky.
oh and if you like to read articles about guy’s named frnk, who can’t really spell too good, and have terrible stomachaches from time to time …then you should definitely pick up the current issue of Kerrang! magazine where they interview me about music i’ve made and then make fun of me in the captions. it’s so hilarious.
the issue i’m referring to has james hetfield on the cover… yelling.
actually, it seems like everyone on the cover is yelling.. except me and that girl holding a basketball. jeezus i do look pretty emo in that picture. ok anyway, that’s the one. be well friends. xofrnk

my new record announcement.
dearest friends and acquaintances,
hi, i would like to tell you all a little bit about my new record….
i am proud to say i have officially signed to Staple Records. and on August 26th 2014 along with my own imprint, B.CALM press, we will be releasing “Stomachaches.” by frnkiero and the cellabration.
the new record will include 12 songs and clocks in around 40 or so minutes. all songs were written and performed by myself except for the drums on 9 of the songs, which were performed amazingly by my friend Jarrod Alexander.
i’m really looking forward to sharing this record with all of you. these songs came from deep inside me and became my salvation at a certain point. and up until this august i will have kept the majority of them a secret from everyone. they were just mine, and now i am ready to give them up to all of you. i hope that you may enjoy them.
official stomachaches tracklisting:
1) .all i want is nothing.
3) .blood infections.
4) .she’s the prettiest girl at the party and she can prove it with a solid right hook.
7) .stage 4 fear of trying.
10) .smoke rings.
12) .where do we belong? anywhere but here.

the things i meant to say yesterday…
i meant to write/post this yesterday but i ended up getting some bad news about a loved one’s health and had to go out of town. so today i found a free moment and wanted to give you all some belated news…
if you have a chance grab a copy of the latest issue of KERRANG! magazine, it comes with an american idiot tribute c.d. that i worked on…(if you can’t acquire the actual magazine you can probably find the music on youtube or something)… oh, and while you’re youtubing or yahooing or googling or binging my cover of extraordinary girl you should also definitely check out gerard’s new song ‘action cat’ cause its really really good.
in addition to new music, Riot Fest just announced some new bands for their chicago lineup, and if you have the desire to look closely you might just see my name.
ok i think that’s all the old news for now… please send some good vibes to my aunt sarah if you get a minute. she and the rest of our family could really use all the good vibes you can muster…
be well out there friends, thanks for taking the time to read. until next time, xofrnk

the people, they aren’t a-changin’
thoughtfully unappreciative and sincerely preoccupied.
behaviors unbecoming become the best that i can muster.
i am leaving this forest as soon as i can get a handle on these brand new legs.
(and yes, i am aware that i say this on a bi-weekly basis.)
ready, aim, long shot, quiver.
release, exhale, follow through, barely deliver.
have i missed our mark entirely?
frail nerves can bend the strongest of spines.
and strong words can break a person in two.
strong but true? true but right? right but just? but just how strong? am i right?
one must never quake in the presence of thy own true self.
we all must… jesus christmas it’s beautiful outside!

Wear Your Music and Make-A-Wish…
hello ladies and germs,
i’m very excited to tell you all i have been asked to work with Wear Your Music, a small sustainable organization who transforms donated guitar and bass strings into one of a kind jewelry fans can purchase and feel good about knowing 100% of those net profits went to a charity decided upon by their favorite artist. together we will be raising money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. i have been lucky enough to work with Make-A-Wish in the past, and i have seen first hand the good they do and the happiness they can bring into a child’s life. i couldn’t be happier being able to work with these two fantastic organizations trying our best to do a little good in the world.

i love getting mail from japan, especially when it’s filled with great work from great people. don’t get me wrong great work from great people is always thrilling to receive, period. however japanese post just tends to look like it was conceived in some retro future where they train black anime robot cats to deliver your mail to you…and you know what? you can refer to me as a ‘crazy’, but that’s just the kind of bizarre acid tripping mechanical animals with careers type of world i want to live in.
but i digress...
my friends in Balzac have been a band for over 20 years now and they continue to make great music. their new ep, wonderwall, is available now and you should check it out along with all their other records. just sayin.

a mouse on your porch is worth 2 in the… shh, he’s sleeping.
yesterday i found a mouse on my back porch. i named him herbert… possibly because that name kinda sounds like “her butt” to me and that made me laugh, but also because his face looked like 31st president of the united states, herbert hoover. google it.
he was lying very peaceful and still on an old tupperware bin i had some yard tools and such in.
for a moment or two while watching him sleep i thought to myself;
‘really? so this son of a bitch climbed up on my tupperware and took a nap huh?…wow, that’s fucking ballzy…and also quite lazy. shit, i wish i had thought of that…i could use a nap. actually if i were a field mouse who looked like the 31st president of the united states, herbert hoover, and had fuck all to do today i would probably have thought of that. i’d climb right up on some dumb human’s porch, take a shit on their picnic table, eat some old junk they left lying around, and take a big fat nap right there on their comfy ass tupperware bin they provided me, conveniently located on their shady back porch on a lukewarm day. because of course that’s clearly what it’s there for… mouse napping. no way anyone would travel to a store and purchase this tupperware bin for any other purpose. say housing yard tools, or the storage of things important to the upkeep of a property. and you know what? fuck it if they did. cause i’m herbert the chubby cheeked field mouse and i can do whatever the fuck i want with no goddamn sense of re…’
…and thats when a cool spring breeze carried the waft of pure decomposition that stopped me mid thought like a bright red train crossing.
sorry herbert… you go ahead and rest awhile. xofrnk
